Made in 1949 by Jean Striebig in Mirecourt (Vosges), numbered 637.
This violin is in mint condition - it was probably owned by a collector and never played. It is made on the Del Gesu pattern and has an incredibly strong sound. It is rather bright but sonorous in the lower register.
A wonderful antique violin in like-new condition.
Striebig established himself in Mirecourt in 1935. He made wonderful individualistic models in addition to admirable copies of standard violin types.
